Marketing with Direction

Allied Shipping & Packaging

Allied Shipping and Packaging
Challenge: Allied Shipping and Packaging, Inc. (ASAP) is an Industrial Supplies distributor with nearly three decades in the packaging industry. When Shelly Robinson-Heller took over the company from her father as President in 2008, she initiated the process to become a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Woman Owned business. The purpose of the WBENC is to remove barriers in the marketplace that impede the progress and growth of businesses owned and managed by women.

Our challenge was to successfully re-brand the company’s image as a WBENC in order to help grow the business and capitalize on the new opportunities available to ASAP that accompanied this certification.

Solution: The first step was to reface the website to highlight the WBENC and EDGE (Encouraging Diversity Growth & Equity) certifications. The website redesign included ensuring the site met today’s best practice standards for a website, resulting in a new overall look and feel to the design. The design was changed to promote the WBENC and EDGE certifications throughout the site, and updating the navigation to feature a bio on the company’s female president. Included in the redesign was a strategy to optimize the site for Search Engine results. The content on the site was re-written for Keyword density pertaining to the various certifications and government codes, and meta tags were programmed throughout.

Second, ASAP needed a powerful Capability Statement, a requirement for many government registration processes. The Capability Statement needed to be a door opener to new agencies, proof of qualification and past performance and sets you apart from your competitors. To meet this new requirement, an online Capability Statement was developed at both the State and Federal level, as well as the functionality to download a printable PDF version of each. The firm assisting ASAP in obtaining their government certification, PTAC, was so impressed with the new Capabilities Statements they requested to use ASAP as an example for future companies becoming certified.

With the web redesign complete and the Capabilities Statements being distributed, the final step was to develop a social media presence with the goal of being an educator in the industry. ASAP now has a strong social media presence to promote company updates and product offerings, association announcements and industry education. Today, Allied Shipping and Packaging has achieved a new level of national and local recognition and continues to polish their image with ongoing marketing efforts with The C-3 Group.

Other marketing efforts for ASAP include: Catalog Covers, Print Ads, Customer Online Ordering System (Web Development), Sales Flyers, Online Systems Integration with 3rd Party Vendors

Client Accolades:
“The C-3 Group took the time to learn our business in order to stand out from our competitors. They partnered with our company wholeheartedly while steering us in the right direction at a pace we were comfortable with. When we transitioned to a WBENC business, they guided us to a new level of national and local recognition. I have complete confidence in their creative talent and business insights”
